Paper Presentation

General Rules

1. Team size is restricted to maximum of two members.

2. The paper must be typed single-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font and be no more than 12 pages. Only text directly related to the item being presented and any accompanying illustrations, tables, figures, etc., will count toward the 12-page limit. Title pages, tables of contents and bibliographies shall not be counted toward the limit.

3. All papers should have a bibliography/works-cited page and appropriate footnotes (any format, such as MLA, APA, etc., as long as its use is consistent throughout the document, will be acceptable). Papers omitting a bibliography or using copied material will be automatically disqualified.

4. Photographs should be treated as being equivalent to figures, with the caption being placed at the bottom of the photograph. Photocopies of photographs are not acceptable.

5. The contestants are required to send only a soft copy of their entry along with an abstract (not more than 100 words) to the college web site: www.fetr.ac.in with subject “paper presentation” Please title your entry in the following format: (teamname)_(institute)

Presentation

1. Each team/entrant must formally present his or her paper at the day of the event. Presentations must be no longer than 10 minutes.

2. A 5-minute question-and-answer period will follow the presentation of the paper. Questions may be posed by judges and/or students attending the presentation.

3. Presentations may be accompanied by visual aids.

Registration Fees: 50/- Per student.

Judging Criteria

Judging will be on a basis of 100, as follows

A. Technical Paper (50):
Choice of Topic (5), Technical Content (30), Grammar and Spelling (5), Paper Appearance and format (10)

B. Presentation (50):
Content (20), Quality of Presentation (20), Question and Answer (10)

Poster Presentation

Description

In this event, contestants have to prepare a poster that effectively showcases new ideas and innovations pertaining to interdisciplinary fields of engineering. The main idea of the event is to analyze a topic and exhibit presentation skills within the restricted space of expression. Participants are required to present their poster to a panel of eminent judges. The entire presentation must not exceed 20 minutes.

Rules

All data and figures, including references are to be included on the poster; other presentation aids like slides or pamphlets will not be allowed.

1. Contestants will have to register online for the event

2. While registering, participants are required to submit an abstract of their idea online. The abstract should not exceed 500 words.

3. Short listing will be done based on the abstract

4. Selected candidates have to present their idea on a standard poster of dimensions 3X4ft

5. The poster can be either handmade or printed.

6. All relevant data and figures must be represented in the poster.

7. Organizers’ decision will be final and binding.

Model Presentation

Description

Drive your Technical skills and get geared up to explore the unexplored!!! This is an event that focuses on how you turn your technical skills into actual practice. The event is all about building working models. This event involves a participant's innovative skills, interpreting natural phenomena and presenting it in the form of a model. Registration Fees: 50 per student.

Rules

1. Participation fees: Rs. 50 per person
2. The topics for model presentation will be of participant choice or ideas from Faculties.
3. Maximum 4 persons per model.
4. Model should be related to technical topic.
5. Participant must bring all the accessories needed for their model on their own. Only single Phase power supply will be provided here.
6. You have to represent your whole model in 10 minutes.
7. The event will comprise of a model presentation and a questionnaire by the judges.
8. A working model along with effective presentation will gain more points.
9. The design should be of high quality focused chiefly on technology and innovation.
10. Intending participants should prepare their models in advance.
11. Participants have to register along with their team names.
12. The judge’s decision will be final.
13. On the spot rules will be given to the participants if required.
14. Participants must bring a valid student ID to participate.
15. Scoring Criteria: The best model will be selected based on its efficiency, working capacity and innovativeness of the solution provided.

Registration

Registration Fee: 200 Rs./Group.

Eligibility

1. All undergraduate students are eligible to participate in Team.
2. The team can consist of maximum 4 students.

Rules

1. The instructions for the final round will be given at the time of the event. The testing/winning criteria of the event would be provided during the time of the event.
2. Any team that is not ready at the time specified will be disqualified from the competition automatically.
3. The decision of the judges shall be treated as final and binding in any circumstance.
4. The teams must adhere to the spirit of healthy competition. The coordinators reserve the right to disqualify any team indulging in misbehavior.
5. The number of rounds and their contents are liable to change before the event and the change will be informed to all who register.
6. All rights are reserved with the coordinators. They may or may not disclose any information depending upon the information asked. They can change any rule at any time according to the situation.
7. Teams must have 1 project leader, 1 design expert and 2 members as the fabrication unit.
8. Teams are expected to have a basic knowhow over working principles of design and fabrication works.

Decription

In this event, the participants will be given a set of technical and non-technical questions as well as games to check their knowledge around the world.

1st year to 4th year students of Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Computer, Chemical Engineering Departments. (Also Interdisciplinary engineering students are allowed)

Rules

Round I:

1. During the teaser round, - You may take up to test. In test you will be required to answer 10 questions by your knowledge. - Minute To Minute Game
2. The rules for game would be announced on the spot.
3. Based on your performance in the teaser round, you will be shortlisted for the next level contest.

Round II:

1. Spin the wheel and answer the 5 questions at your fastest pace and knowledge.
Questions: Sports, Bollywood, History, Politics, Current Affairs, Technical
2. The rules for bonus round would be announced on the spot.
3. Based on your performance, you will be selected among the Top 5 performers. This will enable you to participate in the next round.

Round III:

1. The rules for final round would be announced on the spot.
2. Final stage contest winner and runner-up will be declared based on contest scores.

1. Students of only Diploma colleges are eligible.

2. All students have their college ID card is compulsory.

3. All candidate have must their own Apron, Shoes and Goggles.

4. There will be only single round.

5. Carbide tool and work piece material will be provided by the college.

6. Time limit for job as per entry.

7. Each team consist only 2 members.

8. If any damage in Tool, Lathe m/c, surrounding etc during machining will lead to disqualified.

9. No extra work piece will be provided and carrying of any extra material is strictly banned.

10. Judges decision will be final and binding to all.

11. The Winner will be decided on the basis of Accuracy, Surface finish and the time duration.

12. All the participates will be awarded by the certificate.

13. Rules are subjected to change at the discretion of organizers.

14. Participants are responsible for their own safety.
